Our water pump went belly up again yesterday evening. It happened for the first time last month and I’m sure I don’t need to tell you how inconvenient it is. It starts with warm cloudy water on the cold setting. Then it progresses to a sputtering stream of water, which finally leads to no water at all. That usually means that cooking is out of the question because, honestly, who wants to have crusty dishes waiting to be washed? Not me, because I never have a sink full of dishes just calling my name. Anyway, using the bathroom is also limited to that one last flush stored in the tank. Luckily for us, our local pizza place came to our rescue and we had that first problem taken care of. Flushing, well, that’s another story. Thank goodness our landlady got her brother to hook us up to her water tank and pump this morning.

I had this long post prepared about all the things I’m missing from the US and that Saba is lacking, but now I feel like a spoiled brat. I’m fine as long as I have running water. Air conditioning and the internet follow closely.
